Kwak Sun-young Shines in ENA's 'Scarecrow' with Captivating Performance

Actress Kwak Sun-young is delivering a stellar performance in ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Scarecrow'. The drama's fourth episode recently achieved its highest ratings yet, with a nationwide viewership of 5.2% and 5.5% in the metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea.

In 'Scarecrow' (written by Lee Ji-hyun and directed by Park Joon-woo), Kwak Sun-young captivates audiences with her portrayal of a character that seems to have stepped straight out of the 1980s, complete with period-appropriate costumes, hairstyles, and speech.

The new ENA drama 'Scarecrow' follows a detective investigating a serial murder case who unexpectedly teams up with someone he despises. Kwak Sun-young plays Seo Ji-won, a reporter for the Kangseong Daily and an elementary school classmate of Kang Tae-joo, played by Park Hae-soo.

Seo Ji-won is a loyal friend who welcomes Tae-joo back to Kangseong and worries about him more than anyone else. As a serial murder case unfolds in their hometown, she is determined to document and reveal the truth alongside Tae-joo, vigilantly observing the police as the investigation progresses.

Moreover, she aids Tae-joo by becoming a decoy in the fields where the scarecrow is located, contributing to the capture of the culprit. Even when threatened by the criminal, she continues to take photos, showcasing her dedication as a journalist.

Kwak Sun-young skillfully portrays her character with a sharp gaze and a relaxed tone when dealing with cases, yet switches to a friendly demeanor when interacting with friends, adding depth to her role. Her 1980s-inspired look, featuring voluminous hairstyles, high-waisted pants, and bold lipstick, enhances the show's authenticity and draws viewers in.

ENA's 'Scarecrow' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM and is also available on KT Genie TV and TVING.
