Lee So-ra, a renowned first-generation supermodel from Korea, has opened up about the trauma she experienced due to extreme dieting.
On the premiere episode of MBC's variety show 'Sora and Jinkyung,' aired on the 26th, Lee So-ra and fellow model Hong Jin-kyung reunited after 15 years to take on the runway once again.
Reflecting on her days as a fashion model, Lee So-ra shared, “I went through really extreme dieting. I starved all day and ate just one can of tuna a day for two weeks. My body was shaking, and I thought I might die. It remains a painful trauma for me.”
Despite this, she revealed her reason for returning to the runway, saying, "I want to end this chapter with a smile, turning the traumatic memories into a beautiful conclusion."
While creating a portfolio for a Paris agency, she looked back at a photo from the 1992 Supermodel Contest, where she said, “I look so skinny here. I lost 8kg by eating just one apple a day for two weeks. It was possible because I was young. It was the lowest weight of my life,” revealing she weighed 54kg at a height of 178cm.
