Chef Jung Ji-sun Shocked by Son's $220 Monthly Spending on 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears'

Chef Jung Ji-sun is taken aback by his son Woo-hyung's $220 monthly expenditure.

On the October 26th episode of KBS2's variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears' (Episode 354), Woo-hyung, born in 2014, surprises his father by admitting, "I've been spending too much money lately," revealing that he spent 290,000 KRW (approximately $220) in the past month.

Jung Ji-sun questions, "What do you even have to spend money on?" expressing skepticism about Woo-hyung's allowance of 50,000 KRW (around $38) being stretched to 300,000 KRW. Woo-hyung explains that he has been learning about stocks by watching his father and has been covering his expenses with holiday money and stock profits, which raises Jung Ji-sun's frustration. A 500% return on investment from 50,000 KRW to 300,000 KRW is implied.

Jung Ji-sun criticizes Woo-hyung's financial habits, stating, "It's excessive for an elementary school student to spend 300,000 KRW a month," to which Woo-hyung retorts, "I spent 290,000 KRW, not 300,000 KRW." Jung Ji-sun insists, "290,000 or 300,000, it's the same," as he attempts to instill discipline.

The two engage in a heated debate over the 'appropriate monthly allowance for an elementary school student.' Jung Ji-sun argues for '50,000 KRW a month,' while Woo-hyung advocates for '200,000 KRW a month.' The episode will reveal whether Jung Ji-sun can correct the spending habits of his 13-year-old son, who is entering adolescence.
