Hong Jin-kyung Opens Up About Her Battle with Cancer on New Show 'Sora and Jin-kyung'

Hong Jin-kyung (48) has shared her emotional journey through six rounds of chemotherapy.

The first episode of MBC's new variety show 'Sora and Jin-kyung' airs on the 26th, featuring Lee So-ra and Hong Jin-kyung reuniting after a long hiatus. The teaser video, which has already garnered attention, shows the awkward reunion of these legendary models, filled with both excitement and silence.

Breaking the silence is Lee So-ra's 'Hollywood-level' straightforwardness. She surprises Hong Jin-kyung, who has been actively working, with her unpredictable humor, saying, "Whenever you turn on the TV, it's Hong Jin-kyung. You've become the 'female Shin Dong-yup.'" This high-level humor, only Lee So-ra, Korea's representative 'cool sister,' could deliver, reportedly left professional entertainer Hong Jin-kyung momentarily speechless.

As they continue to reminisce, Lee So-ra expresses admiration and affection for Hong Jin-kyung, who has experienced significant life changes like marriage and childbirth, unlike her still-single self. Most notably, Hong Jin-kyung candidly shares her tumultuous life story, including her feelings during her cancer treatment and her quiet support for the children of the late Choi Jin-sil, Hwan-hee and Jun-hee.

The reality program 'Sora and Jin-kyung' follows the journey of first-generation supermodels Lee So-ra and Hong Jin-kyung as they challenge themselves once again on the runway, where they once burned with passion in their 20s. The show premieres at 9:10 PM.
