Maggie Kang Signs Exclusive Deal with The Present Company, Expanding Her Creative Horizons

Maggie Kang, the director of Netflix's animated hit 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' has signed an exclusive contract with The Present Company.

The Present Company announced, "We plan to develop various projects based in Korea with Director Maggie Kang," adding, "We anticipate a synergy with Maggie Kang, who possesses both creativity and a global perspective." They further stated, "Maggie Kang is an iconic figure who has proven the global potential of K-content and will continue her journey as a representative creator of Korea."

Born in Korea and raised in Canada, Maggie Kang began her career as a story artist at a global studio. She gained worldwide attention by directing Netflix's 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' which achieved over 500 million streams. The project also made history by winning two awards at the 98th Academy Awards and the Best Animated Feature at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.

Recognized for her visual direction and detailed depiction, Maggie Kang is expanding her artistic reach into high-end brands and the fashion industry, gracing magazine covers and continuously extending her influence as a creator.

'K-Pop Demon Hunters' introduced a new trend in the content market by combining K-pop elements with a Korean-themed narrative. In recognition of her contributions, Maggie Kang was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit (Ok-gwan Medal) by the Korean government.

The Present Company is an agency representing actors such as Ahn Hyo-seop, Shin Se-kyung, Kim Seol-hyun, and Park So-dam. Notably, Ahn Hyo-seop collaborated with Maggie Kang by participating in voice acting for 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'

Moving forward, Maggie Kang plans to expand her activities in Korea with The Present Company while also pursuing international opportunities through the global agency UTA.
