Chef Sungjae Ahn's fine dining establishment, Mosu, is preparing an official statement regarding allegations of a 'wine swap.'

According to a report by TenAsia on the 23rd, Mosu plans to release their stance on the 'wine swap' allegations via their official Instagram account later today. An industry insider informed TenAsia, "We aim to announce our position as swiftly as possible."

On the 21st, an online community post claimed that a wine swap occurred at Chef Sungjae Ahn's restaurant. The author, identified as A, alleged, "The wine ordered during the meal was different from what was actually served."

According to A, the wine that should have been served was a '2000' vintage, but the sommelier brought a '2005' vintage instead. When A attempted to take a photo of the wine for record-keeping, the sommelier suddenly presented the '2000' wine bottle. A suspected that the sommelier knowingly served the wrong wine.

When A requested an explanation for the incorrect wine service, the sommelier reportedly admitted, "The ordered '2000' vintage bottle was downstairs," and acknowledged serving a different wine. The sommelier then offered A a taste of the '2000' vintage, which added to the bewilderment.

The issue is compounded by the fact that there is a price difference of approximately 100,000 KRW between the two wines. A expressed disappointment, stating, "Mistakes can happen, but it was disheartening to receive the wine we should have been served as if it were a complimentary service, without an apology."

The incident has sparked debate online. Some argue that "strict service management is necessary given the high costs," while others suggest maintaining neutrality until the restaurant's official statement is released.
