Dr. Oh Eun-young critiques a mother's unilateral actions.
On the upcoming episode of Channel A's 'My Golden Kids' airing on the 24th at 9 PM, the second part of the story titled 'An ADHD Mother Who Can't Understand Her ADHD Third Grader Son' will be revealed.
Last week, viewers were moved by the story of a third-grade boy struggling to control his impulses and his ADHD mother. In this week's episode, the father steps in as a new support figure to help the family overcome their ADHD challenges, drawing attention to whether the family can move towards genuine recovery.
In the preview, the young boy is seen opening up to Dr. Oh Eun-young, sharing feelings he hadn't expressed before. Listening to Dr. Oh's advice, he asks, "Can I change too?" showing a strong desire for transformation, which touches the studio audience.
The following scenes show the mother and son taking steps towards change, with the boy getting a refreshing haircut and the mother tidying up their cluttered home. Their efforts to implement small changes bring smiles to the studio.
However, another issue arises as the boy struggles to socialize at a kids' café, preferring to play alone despite his mother's attempts to encourage interaction with peers. Dr. Oh emphasizes the importance of parents' 'emotional responses' and critiques the mother's one-sided approach.
Meanwhile, the father's return from a business trip shifts focus to the studio. Yet, the family dinner quickly turns tense as the parents argue over disciplining their son, leading the boy to retreat to his room, distressed by the conflict.
Dr. Oh points out the detrimental impact of the parents' negative communication on their child, aiming to uncover the root causes of their parenting conflicts.
