Korean Entertainer Ji Suk-jin Opens Up About Stock Market Losses

Korean entertainer Ji Suk-jin recently revealed his struggles with stock market investments, admitting to being in the red.

On the 21st, the YouTube channel 'TEO 테오' released an episode titled 'Mimi's Laughter and Ji Suk-jin's Stock Woes | EP. 136 Ji Suk-jin Mimi | Salon Drip.' The episode featured Ji Suk-jin and Mimi.

During the conversation, the topic of investment came up. Host Jang Do-yeon mentioned, "I don't even have a stock account."

Ji Suk-jin advised, "To avoid failure, consider long-term investments in ETFs over about 10 years and make regular purchases like a savings plan. If you buy a certain amount every month, you can't fail." Jang Do-yeon asked, "Are you usually good at giving investment advice?" Ji Suk-jin replied, "I love it because I haven't succeeded myself. I've learned a lot."

Jang Do-yeon was puzzled, asking, "If you know all that, why haven't you succeeded?" Ji Suk-jin lamented, "It's strange. It just doesn't work for me. It's almost miraculous."

Jang Do-yeon commented, "I heard the stock market is doing well these days." Ji Suk-jin confessed, "I'm in the negative. I'm the only one in the blue." He continued, "I bought Samsung Electronics at 80,000 won. It never went over 100,000 won and kept dropping. When it finally went over 100,000 won, I sold it," he laughed. However, Samsung Electronics' stock recently surpassed 200,000 won. Ji Suk-jin remarked, "I sold it at the perfect time," adding, "When it went over 200,000 won, I thought I was doing well and sold in parts," he laughed. He also shared, "My wife had some too. I told her I sold mine and said, 'Timing is important.' I told her to decide for herself, and she sold hers too. It seems small investors don't do well."

Mimi consoled him, saying, "At least you made a 20,000 won profit." Ji Suk-jin expressed his frustration, "It hurts when you sell and the price goes up."
