Korean singer Yuk Joong-wan, who left the show 'I Live Alone' after getting married in 2016, has revealed that he and his wife sleep in separate bedrooms.
On the October 21st episode of SBS's variety show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny,' Yuk Joong-wan's married life was unveiled for the first time. Previously known for showcasing his rooftop apartment life on 'I Live Alone,' he now captivates viewers with his life in Mok-dong.
During the episode, Yuk Joong-wan shared that he met his wife, Jung Hyun-joo, as a guitar teacher and student. He explained, "We've been sleeping in separate rooms since the early days of our marriage because we have different sleeping habits." He also mentioned their 9-year-old daughter, Yuk On-eum, saying, "She takes after her mother."
Waking up alone at home, Yuk Joong-wan explained, "Today, my wife and daughter went to her parents' house in Busan." He expressed, "My wife dedicates everything to our child. She lives according to our daughter's schedule, so she rarely leaves the house. Her maternal instincts have exploded, and as a result, I can't go anywhere either."
Yuk Joong-wan lamented, "I had fantasies about marriage. I wanted to have a blues band and enjoy making music together when we reached our 50s. I dreamed of such things."
Experiencing complete freedom for the first time in 10 years, Yuk Joong-wan enjoyed a can of beer in the morning, expressing his sense of liberation. He also mentioned that they moved to Mok-dong for their daughter's education. "It's a bit suffocating. Mok-dong is great for children's safety and education, but it doesn't suit my personality. I feel like I'm the only one who's different," he confessed.
He continued, "When my daughter was young, she attended an English kindergarten. Later, she took a level test for an English academy, and I thought she would at least be in the middle. But the results..." he sighed.
