In the premiere of 'Fighting Worthlessness', Hwang Dong-man (played by Koo Kyo-hwan) left a strong impression with his uncontrollable antics. As a 20-year aspiring director, his anxiety manifested in verbose outbursts, testing the patience of his successful filmmaker friends in the 'Group of Eight'.
Particularly, his harsh critique of Park Kyung-se (played by Oh Jung-se)'s fifth film left the room in silence, while his exaggerated behavior to hide his emotional turmoil evoked both pity and laughter. His defiant statement, "Why does my life have to please you?" provided a satisfying end, yet the fractured relationships he left behind remain unresolved.
In the upcoming second episode, airing on the 19th, the patience of the 'Group of Eight' reaches its limit. Go Hye-jin (played by Kang Mal-geum), the head of GoBak Films and a key figure in the narrative, takes drastic action. As seen in the preview, she sternly tells Hwang Dong-man, "You can't come here anymore," effectively banning him from their hangout. Despite their 20-year bond over shared dreams in the film industry, Hwang Dong-man's behavior forces Go Hye-jin to issue a firm expulsion, heightening the tension.
The released stills capture this explosive moment vividly. Go Hye-jin confronts Hwang Dong-man with a resolute expression, delivering the ban. A subsequent image shows a large sign on the hangout's door reading 'Hwang Dong-man Banned', highlighting his unfortunate reality. Viewers are eager to see if Hwang Dong-man will be completely cut off from the group or if a surprising twist awaits in this intense conflict.
The production team commented, "Watch to see if Go Hye-jin's ban will effectively curb Hwang Dong-man's antics or if it will provoke him further, leading to unexpected chaos."
'Fighting Worthlessness' episode 2 airs at 10:30 PM.
