The press screening for the film 'Jjanggu' (directed by Oh Sung-ho and Jung Woo) took place on the 16th at the Yongsan I'Park Mall CGV in Seoul. Jung Woo, along with Jung Soo-jung, Shin Seung-ho, Jo Beom-gyu, Kwon So-hyun, and director Oh Sung-ho, attended the event.
Jung Woo shared, "The story is personal and seems to have started from my own experiences. So, there are unique emotions involved. However, not all characters in our film are based on real people. For instance, the character Min-hee is a projection of what men might consider a 'wannabe,' a symbolic figure representing the barriers of reality. Characters like Seung-ho, Beom-gyu, and So-hyun are inspired by friends I have known, either directly or indirectly."
He continued, "The swimming scene was inspired by a real audition experience from the project 'Silmido.' The monologue in the film was also part of a free acting segment I performed during an audition."
Jung Woo explained, "While the film is based on my experiences, it has been adapted for cinematic enjoyment. One of the thoughts that struck me during filming was that my first movie audition was for a project by director Jang Hang-jun. Performing an audition scene in front of the director in our film's key scene was truly moving. It brought up a lot of complex emotions."
'Jjanggu' is set to be released on the 22nd.
