Hwasa Discusses Her Duet with Park Jung-min and New Single 'So Cute' on Wendy's Young Street

Singer Hwasa shared her thoughts on her duet performance with Park Jung-min at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.

On the October 15th broadcast of SBS PowerFM's 'Wendy's Young Street,' Hwasa, who released her digital single 'So Cute' on the 9th, made a guest appearance.

Hwasa revealed the inspiration behind her new song, stating, "I was inspired by the phrase 'cuteness wins everything,' which led to the creation of 'So Cute.'" When DJ Wendy asked when she feels cute, Hwasa humorously replied, "I think I feel cute when I'm sleep-deprived and start talking nonsense. Recently, during a live session with fans, I sang 'So Cute' as if I were sleep-talking, and that's when I felt cute."

Hwasa also performed a live rendition of 'So Cute.' Wendy commented, "Among the 'Young Street' guests, you utilized the studio the most. The song has a bright vibe, but it also makes me emotional every time I hear it."

When asked by a listener which performance she watched more between her stage with Park Jung-min at the film festival and her 'Excuse' stage with Yoon Kyung-ho at the awards ceremony, Hwasa replied, "I only watched the performance with Park Jung-min for monitoring purposes because it reminds me of the tension and excitement of that moment. I watched the performance with Yoon Kyung-ho much more."

A listener also shared that both Hwasa and Wendy had 'golden child' traits in their childhood. Hwasa confessed, "I once lied to my mom that I couldn't see well because I thought wearing glasses looked cool. Eventually, I had to go for an eye test, and I deliberately threw dirt in my eyes before going." Wendy related to this, recalling her own childhood story of pretending not to see during an eye test because she wanted glasses.

Hwasa recommended ILY:1's 'Magnetic' as a song she recently found cute. She shared a bittersweet story about performing it for fans, who humorously commented, 'Hwasa is like a semiconductor in the beginning,' and 'It's an adult magnetic,' leaving her feeling a bit hurt.
