K-Pop sensation ILY:IT has been nominated for the 'Best Female K-Pop Artist' category at the prestigious 'American Music Awards' (AMAs) 2026.
According to the nominees list announced on October 14, ILY:IT, consisting of members YoonA, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha, is the only 5th generation girl group to be nominated in this category.
The 'American Music Awards', established in 1974, is one of the top three music award ceremonies in the United States, alongside the 'Grammy Awards' and 'Billboard Music Awards'. Nominees are determined based on streaming numbers, album and song sales, radio airplay, and touring performance.
ILY:IT has consistently made waves in the North American market. Their mini albums, 'SUPER REAL ME' (2024), 'I'LL LIKE YOU', and 'bomb' (2025), all entered the 'Billboard 200' chart consecutively. Their debut track 'Magnetic' reached 91 on the Billboard 'Hot 100', while the title track of their first single album, 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE', peaked at 7 on the 'Bubbling Under Hot 100'. These tracks have also gained traction on global short-form platforms, influencing trends among the youth.
The group's international presence has been further solidified with accolades such as winning 'Best New K-Pop Artist' at the '2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards'. They were also nominated at major award shows like the '2024 Billboard Music Awards' and the '2024 MTV Europe Music Awards'. Their first original Japanese song 'Almond Chocolate' was the only foreign artist's work to receive the 'Excellence Award' at the '67th Japan Record Awards'.
This year's AMAs will take place on May 25 at 5 PM at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount Plus.
