The YouTube channel 'Ulsan Namgu Travel' posted a video titled 'I Am Solo 6th Season Young-chul ♥ Young-sook Meet and Greet,' featuring Young-chul meeting with the channel's operators to discuss his current life.
In the video, Young-chul shared that many people recognize him since the show aired, saying, "More people recognize me than I expected," and added, "The 6th season is often re-aired, and I even saw myself on a monitor during a train trip."
Young-chul reflected on watching the show post-marriage, saying, "Since the show was before our relationship, watching it after marriage feels quite embarrassing," and added, "It's hard to capture pre-marriage stories on video, but it became a good memory." He further explained, "It's quite extreme, but when you're in a confined space with urgent situations, people can fall in love quickly. 'I Am Solo' creates such extreme situations where you only see that person, and love can indeed blossom."
Young-chul also mentioned that he and Young-sook continue to be avid viewers of 'I Am Solo' even after their season ended. He shared that a friend of his applied to be on the show but was not selected, and he strongly recommends and hopes for his friend's participation. Young-sook even made a surprise visit to support Young-chul, with the channel operators praising her beauty, saying she looks like a celebrity.
Meanwhile, Young-sook revealed that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in January last year and recently underwent surgery. During this time, she suffered from privacy invasions by some disrespectful fans. While hospitalized, Young-sook expressed her shock, saying, "After posting a photo from the ward, some people identified the location and opened the curtains without permission, which was truly surprising." She clarified, "I didn't share my pain to seek attention but to provide information to others awaiting surgery," drawing sympathy from the public. Young-chul and Young-sook, who met on the 6th season of 'I Am Solo' in 2022 and became a married couple, have a son and a daughter together.
