Trot Singer Heo Chan-mi Shares Emotional Journey on 'Miss Trot 4'

Heo Chan-mi, who transitioned from a girl group member to a trot singer, sheds tears as she mentions her parents on 'Miss Trot 4'.

On the upcoming episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Dad and Me Season 3', airing on the 15th, Heo Chan-mi joins as a new daughter representative. Having debuted 17 years ago, Heo Chan-mi endured the idol trainee phase and appeared on various survival programs, yet remained in the shadows for 16 years. Following her participation in audition programs, she faced a barrage of malicious comments, leading her to a difficult period where she even considered extreme measures. Her parents hoped she would abandon her dream of becoming a singer.

However, when Heo Chan-mi expressed her desire to make one last attempt on 'Miss Trot 4', her mother secretly supported her by applying to the show, hoping that her presence would draw more attention to her daughter. Heo Chan-mi's father, who was once a singer himself but gave up his dream due to opposition from his father-in-law, took on the role of manager during the competition, closely supporting his wife and daughter.

Throughout the 'Miss Trot 4' competition, Heo Chan-mi's father witnessed her journey to becoming a finalist and will share his true feelings and the story of supporting his daughter's dreams for the first time on 'Dad and Me'.

Meanwhile, the unique daily life of Heo Chan-mi's family will also be revealed. To accommodate Heo Chan-mi's late-night schedule, her parents kept the house quiet in the morning. Her father, a devoted husband and father, immediately went to the kitchen to prepare juice when his wife expressed a desire for it. He skillfully prepared the fruit and, to avoid waking Heo Chan-mi with the blender noise, moved to the farthest corner of the balcony to blend the juice.

Seeing her parents' efforts to minimize noise, Heo Chan-mi was moved to tears, saying, "I didn't know they went to such lengths." As more of the family's daily life was revealed, Jeon Hyun-moo commented, "They don't seem like a real family," while Han Hye-jin remarked, "They seem like a family from a fairy tale."
