Lee Sang-min Returns as Producer with New Co-ed Idol Group After Clearing $69 Million Debt

Lee Sang-min, who recently cleared a $69 million debt, is making a comeback as a producer with a new co-ed idol group after 20 years. He has begun preparations for their first recording session.

On October 8, Lee was featured on the YouTube channel '232 Project,' where he was seen preparing for the styling and first practice recording of the group's first member, Yoon Soo-min. '232 Project' is a reality show that marks Lee's return to the music industry as a producer, following his financial struggles and debt clearance.

During the episode, Lee showcased his veteran producing skills as he prepared Yoon Soo-min, who passed a rigorous audition process, for practice. He requested a strong concept makeup and stayed by Yoon's side throughout the process, offering detailed advice from his experience, such as "tying your hair limits styling options." Lee expressed satisfaction with Yoon's transformation into an idol visual and lightened the mood by joking, "We should take a lap around Apgujeong, but we have work to do."

Lee also took on the role of Yoon Soo-min's temporary road manager. During the car ride to the practice recording for the debut song 'GENIUS,' Lee's genuine affection shone through. He revealed for the first time that 'GENIUS' has four different vocal designs, hinting at the process of finding the perfect match for Yoon's voice and adjusting the parts through future practice sessions.

Lee expressed his firm commitment to creating an unprecedented idol group. He believes that introducing "new colors and new concepts" will captivate the public and lead to a strong fanbase. Although Yoon expressed concerns about tackling a new style of music, she showed exceptional passion and determination.

Lee also shared the unique value of the '232 Project.' He emphasized that documenting Yoon's candid journey towards debut will become a valuable archive and asset for the group. Yoon responded warmly, feeling the sincerity of her producer's romantic vision of "a channel that captures every step from the beginning."

Meanwhile, '232 Project' airs every Wednesday at 6 PM on YouTube.
