The beloved KBS variety show 'Happy Together' is making a comeback with its iconic host, Yoo Jae-suk.
On the 7th, the production team of KBS's new variety program 'Happy Together - It's Good Not to Be Alone' (planned by Park Min-jung/directed by Kwon Jae-oh/written by Lee Min-jung) announced, "'Happy Together' is returning to viewers with a new concept after six years. Yoo Jae-suk, the long-standing host of 'Happy Together,' will be the main MC, and the show is set to premiere in July."
'Happy Together' was a staple on television from 2001 to 2020, establishing itself as a brand over its 20-year run. Known for its witty talk and diverse entertainment elements, the show introduced iconic segments like 'Backpack Talk,' 'Tray Karaoke,' 'Friends,' 'Sauna Talk,' and 'Night Cafeteria,' earning widespread love.
Now, after six years, KBS's flagship variety show 'Happy Together' returns as 'Happy Together - It's Good Not to Be Alone.' This marks the first-ever storytelling music audition that proves the 'reason to sing together.' With no age, genre, or qualification restrictions, the 'team-based audition' allows any group to participate as long as they are not alone. Unlike other music auditions, the focus is on the unique narrative and harmony of 'us' rather than just singing skills. This blend of music and talk continues the tradition of the 'Happy Together' brand while highlighting the value of 'togetherness' through music.
Yoo Jae-suk will lead the program as the main MC and a natural listener. With his empathetic nature, he is expected to grasp the sincerity in the songs and draw out the participants' stories with his excellent hosting skills and humor. His role as a public expert, rivaling music professionals, is also highly anticipated.
KBS2's new variety program 'Happy Together - It's Good Not to Be Alone' is set to premiere in July, with participant applications open on the official website from the 8th to May 31st.
