Seo Jang-hoon Offers Comfort to Heartbroken Japanese Student on 'Ask Anything'

Seo Jang-hoon consoles a guest who feels betrayed by her ex-boyfriend and close friend.

On the 359th episode of KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything', airing at 8 PM on the 6th, a 28-year-old Japanese university student appears, struggling with feelings of betrayal and heartache from her first love.

The guest seeks advice from the hosts to regain her self-esteem after discovering that her close friend secretly met with her ex-boyfriend.

She shares that she met her first love, a Korean man, at a bar in Hongdae during a trip to Korea four years ago, and they began a long-distance relationship. She even considered moving to Korea to overcome the challenges of their long-distance relationship. However, differences in their views on drinking led to conflicts, and eventually, her ex-boyfriend ended the relationship after an argument.

The real issue arose after their breakup. While staying in Korea, she discovered through social media that her trusted friend and ex-boyfriend had met for drinks alone. A photo from the gathering, complete with heart emojis, left her feeling deeply betrayed.

The three had known each other since the guest was dating her ex-boyfriend, and there had been an incident where the ex-boyfriend, while drunk, had been physically affectionate with the friend. The friend also admitted to being attracted to the ex-boyfriend's appearance. Seo Jang-hoon comments, "They were both waiting for an opportunity."

Seo Jang-hoon continues, "It's upsetting and infuriating, but relationships that start like that don't last long," offering comfort by saying, "You just haven't met the right person yet." He advises, "Meet various people and develop an eye for good partners."

Lee Soo-geun adds, "While appearance is important, inner qualities matter more," emphasizing the true criteria for a meaningful relationship. The hosts encourage the guest, who aims to work in a Korean hotel, to focus on self-improvement for the future rather than dwelling on the past, offering warm support.
