The episode aired on KBS 2TV on the 5th, featuring the second part of the 'Spring Table Battle: Taste vs. Taste' in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do. The show topped its time slot with a nationwide viewership rating of 5.9% according to Nielsen Korea.
Continuing from last week, the relay cooking battle between Team Ho-young (Jung Ho-young, Lee Jun, DinDin, Yoo Seon-ho) and Team Sam Kim (Sam Kim, Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon) unfolded. With just 10 minutes left, the two chefs took the stage as the final runners to complete their dishes. Despite unexpected challenges, both chefs remained calm and impressed the members with their culinary skills.
After the intense cooking battle, the production team's panel of 11 judges proceeded with the evaluation. They tasted and praised both teams' dishes, voting for the team whose dish they found more delicious. The suspenseful voting concluded with Team Sam Kim winning 7 to 4, avenging their previous loss on Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2'. Sam Kim humorously advised Jung Ho-young, "You should cook more diligently and avoid making the food too sweet," eliciting laughter.
As victors, Sam Kim, Kim Jong-min, and Moon Se-yoon enjoyed a hearty dinner, savoring the dishes prepared by both teams. Meanwhile, the losing team, Jung Ho-young, Lee Jun, DinDin, and Yoo Seon-ho, faced the penalty of becoming the designated chefs for '2 Days & 1 Night', tasked with preparing late-night snacks.
After dinner, both teams engaged in the 'Infinite Flour Hell' mission to determine who would participate in the special early morning schedule of helping at the seafood auction house. The mission consisted of three rounds, with each round's winner earning a spoon. After all rounds, a spoon draw would decide the team heading to the auction.
Team Sam Kim, undefeated from the ingredient acquisition mission to the cooking battle, continued their winning streak by triumphing in the 1st round 'Delivery Hell' and 2nd round 'Time Hell'. Team Ho-young finally broke their losing streak by winning the 3rd round 'Stamp Hell'. With Team Sam Kim holding two spoons and Team Ho-young one, Sam Kim volunteered to draw the spoon.
The team whose spoon was drawn would be exempt from the early morning duty, but Sam Kim drew Team Ho-young's spoon, resulting in Sam Kim, Kim Jong-min, and Moon Se-yoon being assigned the early morning task. Overcoming the 33% odds, Team Ho-young celebrated their exemption, while Team Sam Kim was left speechless.
The '2 Days & 1 Night' teams and guests enjoyed a filling late-night meal before heading to bed. Sam Kim, Kim Jong-min, and Moon Se-yoon, assigned the early morning duty, woke up early and headed to the seafood auction house. After changing into work clothes, they began preparing for the auction. Successfully completing their tasks, they returned to base camp with fresh black porgy as their reward.
Upon seeing the black porgy brought by Team Sam Kim, Jung Ho-young, a top Japanese cuisine chef, prepared sashimi on the spot, delighting the members. After breakfast, Jung Ho-young reflected, "It would be a lie to say it wasn't tiring, but it was fun and ended with laughter. I didn't realize the day would pass so quickly." Sam Kim also shared his thoughts, "I enjoyed experiences I wouldn't normally have through '2 Days & 1 Night'. It was a healing experience."
