On the October 4th episode of KBS2's variety show 'Immortal Songs', the '2026 Entertainment King of Kings Part 2' was aired.
Jo Hye-ryun chose to perform Im Hee-sook's 'My One and Only Person is Leaving'. She explained her song choice by saying, "This is a tribute to my beloved brother Jeon Yoo-seong."
Jo recalled, "Five days before he passed away, Jeon Yoo-seong called me. When I answered with 'Hello', he said, 'Uh... I'm going to die soon.'"
She continued, "I was so shocked to hear his voice. I felt heartbroken realizing how much he had been struggling and waiting for me while I was busy with excuses."
Jo also shared, "Four days before his passing, I visited him and thanked him for bringing laughter to us. He replied, 'I'm grateful you were by my side. Even when I'm gone, keep making people laugh.' It still feels like he's with us."
As Jo delivered her tribute to Jeon Yoo-seong at the end of her performance, the atmosphere turned solemn. Fellow comedians in the waiting room also shared their memories of the late comedian, shedding tears. Comedian Park Jun-hyung expressed, "It feels like our senior is still here with us," showing his emotional state.
Meanwhile, Jeon Yoo-seong passed away on September 25th last year due to worsening pneumothorax symptoms while hospitalized. He was 76 years old. It was reported that he had suffered from pneumonia and struggled with aftereffects of COVID-19. He underwent surgery to remove part of his lung due to pneumothorax, but his condition deteriorated.
