Park Sung-woong finds himself isolated in the village of Yeonliri.
In the second episode of KBS 2TV's mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' (directed by Choi Yeon-soo, written by Song Jeong-rim and Wang Hye-ji, produced by Sim Story), airing at 9:50 PM on the 2nd, the tension between newcomer Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong) and the village head Im Joo-hyung (played by Lee Seo-hwan) continues to escalate.
In the previous episode, Seong Tae-hoon, a manager at the food conglomerate 'Mat Story', was suddenly transferred to the rural branch in Yeonliri. Despite the challenging conditions, he began a new life with his family, attempting to grow cabbages. However, Im Joo-hyung showed open hostility towards him due to his 'Mat Story' background, hinting at an impending clash that drew viewers' attention.
The stills released ahead of the second episode show Seong Tae-hoon struggling alone to ensure a successful cabbage harvest. Even in the dark of night, he is seen fixing sprinklers under the light, demonstrating his determination not to give up on farming, evoking sympathy. Meanwhile, Im Joo-hyung provocatively taunts him with a relaxed demeanor, adding a touch of humor.
On this day, Seong Tae-hoon requests support from his company for necessary farming materials and supplies but faces difficulties. Having been under constant scrutiny from Im Joo-hyung, he is challenged with the taunt, "What can you do here without me?" Seeking help from the villagers proves futile as they hesitate to act against the village head's influence. As a result, Seong Tae-hoon finds himself increasingly cornered, struggling even to get a sip of water.
To make matters worse, 'Mat Story' imposes an unreasonable mission on him, further pressuring Seong Tae-hoon. As the official outcast of Yeonliri, viewers are left wondering how he will overcome this crisis and whether he can successfully cultivate his cabbages without faltering.
Meanwhile, Jo Mi-ryeo (played by Lee Soo-kyung) decides to stay in Yeonliri with her children, following her husband Seong Tae-hoon, and takes action. Visiting Simwoo Elementary School with Seong Ji-sang (played by Seo Yoon-hyuk) and Seong Ji-goo (played by Yang Woo-hyuk), she uses her innate sociability to connect with the village women's association, including the president Nam Hye-seon (played by Nam Kwon-ah). Curiosity grows as to whether Jo Mi-ryeo, with her exceptional adaptability, can win over the villagers' hearts and how the family will adjust to life in Yeonliri.
