Tensions Rise in 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' as Park Sung-woong Faces Isolation
Park Sung-woong becomes an outcast in Yeonliri Village.

In the second episode of KBS 2TV's mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri,' airing today (2nd), the intense rivalry between newcomer Sung Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong) and the village head Im Joo-hyung (played by Lee Seo-hwan) continues.

In the previous episode, Sung Tae-hoon, a manager at the food conglomerate 'Matstory,' was abruptly transferred to the rural branch in Yeonliri. Unexpectedly starting a farming life with his family, Sung Tae-hoon took on the challenge of cabbage farming despite the harsh conditions. However, Im Joo-hyung showed blatant hostility towards him due to his 'Matstory' background, hinting at an impending clash that captured viewers' attention.

Ahead of the second episode, stills reveal Sung Tae-hoon struggling alone to ensure a successful cabbage harvest. Even in the dark of night, he is seen fixing sprinklers under the light, demonstrating his determination not to give up on farming, evoking sympathy. Meanwhile, Im Joo-hyung provocatively taunts him with a relaxed demeanor, adding a touch of humor.

On this day, Sung Tae-hoon requests support for farming materials and supplies from his company but faces difficulties. Having been under constant scrutiny from Im Joo-hyung, Sung Tae-hoon encounters a challenge with the declaration, “What can you do here without me?” Seeking help from the villagers proves futile as they hesitate, wary of the village head's influence. With the ongoing conflict with Im Joo-hyung, even obtaining a sip of water becomes a struggle for Sung Tae-hoon, pushing him further into a corner.

To make matters worse, 'Matstory' imposes an unreasonable mission, further pressuring Sung Tae-hoon. As Yeonliri's official outcast, viewers are eager to see how he will overcome this crisis and whether he can successfully cultivate his cabbage without faltering.

Meanwhile, Jo Mi-ryeo (played by Lee Soo-kyung) decides to stay in Yeonliri with her children, following her husband Sung Tae-hoon, and takes action. Visiting Simwoo Elementary School with Seong Ji-sang (played by Seo Yoon-hyuk) and Seong Ji-goo (played by Yang Woo-hyuk), she uses her unique charm to get closer to the village women's association, including the president Nam Hye-seon (played by Nam Kwon-ah). Curiosity peaks as to whether Jo Mi-ryeo, with her exceptional adaptability, can win over the villagers' hearts and how the family's life in Yeonliri unfolds.

The second episode of KBS 2TV's mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' airs tonight at 9:50 PM.
