Korean Announcer Choi Sun-kyu Recalls Daughter's Near-Fatal Accident and Miraculous Recovery

Korean announcer Choi Sun-kyu recently opened up about a harrowing moment in his life when his 3-year-old daughter was involved in a life-threatening car accident.

In a video titled "Please Save Our Daughter, Choi Sun-kyu's Story of Conversion" on the 'CGN' channel, Choi described September 26, 1992, as "the most unforgettable day" of his life. After finishing a live broadcast, he received a note from a fellow announcer.

The note contained just 18 characters: "Daughter car accident, critical condition. Gangnam Sacred Heart Hospital ER."

Rushing to the hospital, Choi was stuck in traffic, unable to move. He recalled, "That was the most terrifying time of my life."

The accident was horrific. His 3-year-old daughter had been hit twice by a moving truck in an alley and was left critically injured under its wheels. She was initially declared dead at the scene.

His wife crawled under the truck to retrieve their daughter and rushed her to the hospital. Choi recounted, "When I arrived at the hospital, a white sheet covered the emergency room bed. With no medical staff in sight, I opened her mouth and removed a blood clot, and she started breathing again."

After two years of treatment, his daughter was discharged at the age of 5, though she was left with discomfort in her left eye. However, she has since recovered her health. Choi shared that he sent her to study in Canada at a young age, and she is now an adult.

"She is currently working as a ground crew member for a Canadian airline," Choi updated.
