Kim Sowon, formerly of GFRIEND, has unveiled her hidden talents by transforming into a model trainee.
On the 27th, Kim Sowon uploaded a video titled 'Guys, I Did It!! I Became a Supermodel Trainee!!!' on her YouTube channel.
In the video, Kim Sowon mentioned her past experience at Hanlim Multi Art School's fashion model department, saying, "Some might wonder why I went to the model department while being an idol. During my trainee days, I went for a profile shoot and felt very awkward, so I decided to study modeling."
Sowon, who passed the exam without any prior training, said, "I thought I had talent. Later, the department head told me they saw potential in me," and expressed her desire to experience modeling again, despite feeling she didn't perform as well as she hoped during Fashion Week.
Kim Sowon visited Esteem Academy to start her walking lessons. Even the basic posture was challenging. She admitted, "I tend to stand with my belly out and lack core strength," and joked, "Isn't this torture?" during the posture correction process.
Though initially struggling to maintain the basic posture, Kim Sowon gradually adapted to model poses. She shared, "During idol activities, I often heard that my walking looked like dancing," and tried to minimize her idol-like movements in this lesson.
The lessons continued with professional training in rhythm walking and turns. Observing a professional model's walk, Kim Sowon remarked, "Their gaze is different. It's intimidating," showing her admiration. During the class, she displayed her unique confidence in fast-paced walking.
The instructor praised Kim Sowon's skills, stating, "Confidence is her greatest strength," as she quickly mastered basic walking and turns in just one day, demonstrating remarkable adaptability.
Particularly in turn movements, she emphasized the importance of details and practiced repeatedly to enhance her performance. After the lesson, the instructor lauded her with, "120 out of 100 points. Her passion and confidence are outstanding."
Kim Sowon revealed her hidden efforts, saying, "I've done a lot of fashion shows at home," and expressed her satisfaction, "It was such a fun experience."
Meanwhile, Kim Sowon debuted with the girl group GFRIEND in 2015 and began her acting career in 2022. Last year, she also launched a basic skincare brand, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit.
