Paco, who recently topped the non-drama category in a buzzworthy survey, visited Korea with his French friends to experience K-BBQ, leading to cultural mishaps and heated debates.
On the October 26th episode of MBC Every1's 'Welcome, First Time in Korea?', Paco, known for his Korean language skills, along with Max and Jamil, were seen visiting a Korean BBQ restaurant after their trip to Namsan to enjoy their first meal.
During the episode, Paco was initially puzzled by the menu but quickly understood the restaurant's policy of not allowing single orders and requiring a minimum of two servings, thanks to his proficient Korean. He impressed everyone by confidently ordering meat and side dishes, translating the situation to his friends in French.
Max, who had previously worked in a Korean restaurant for over two years, expressed his confidence by describing the sound of grilling meat. Jamil also shared insights into Korean side dish culture, advising on how to enjoy meat with accompaniments.
However, before grilling, Max mistakenly placed asparagus on the charcoal cover, thinking it was the grill, causing the owner to intervene. Dean Dean, observing the scene, mentioned the cultural background of using gas in France, sympathizing with Max's mistake. Max soon regained his composure and showcased his grilling skills, as the friends marveled at the sizzling beef.
Later, during a taxi ride to their next dining spot, a fierce debate erupted between Paco and Max over Korean fashion. Paco praised it as "world-class," while Max argued against judging based solely on tourist spots. Their discussion became so intense that it invoked references to French literary figures like Victor Hugo and Baudelaire. Jamil, the youngest, appeared uneasy amidst the heated exchange. Fabien and Robin explained that in France, such passionate debates are a sign of close friendship, easing the tension.
