Singer Dindin emerged victorious against KAIST graduate Heo Seong-beom.
In the 10th episode of Netflix's daily variety show 'Death Game' (directed by Kwon Dae-hyun, produced by TEO), released on the 25th, Dindin, who was on a winning streak after defeating IVE's Gaeul, faced off against KAIST AI researcher Heo Seong-beom in an intense psychological battle that thrilled viewers.
Heo Seong-beom, known as a formidable brain survival competitor, was the runner-up against Jang Dong-min in 'Bloody Game 3' and also participated in 'University War 1'. He expressed his motivation for returning to survival games, saying, "I wanted to come back because there are few moments that make my heart race and feel animal instincts." Commentator Jang Dong-min also shared his anticipation, stating, "Having been with him in 'Bloody Game 3', I am well aware of his abilities."
The game unveiled this time was 'Doubles Plan', a psychological strategy game where players read their opponent's choices and use double chances to turn the tables within limited numbers. It was played over four sets, with varying victory points in each set acting as variables. Jang Dong-min emphasized, "The key is to grasp both probability calculation and psychological warfare."
While Dindin predicted a play based on intuition, Heo Seong-beom approached the game with a calculated strategy, organizing victory combinations by numbers in a chart. The match began with a fierce mental battle. Dindin confidently stated, "It's an opportunity for a high school graduate to beat a KAIST graduate. Studying and real-life are different," while Heo Seong-beom countered, "I have no hobby of losing to weaker opponents. I want a perfect and enjoyable victory."
As the game commenced, Dindin, known as the 'master of cunning' and 'beast heart', accumulated points with bold and meticulous play. Although Heo Seong-beom, initially flustered by Dindin's momentum, adjusted his strategy and set the stage for a one-point comeback with his characteristic nimble play, Dindin sealed the victory in the final moments, becoming the winner of the 10th episode. Dindin's strategic victory was evident as he meticulously counted under the table using all ten fingers, proving it was not mere luck.
With this victory, Dindin secured two victory tokens and 15 million won, advancing to challenge for a third consecutive win. Heo Seong-beom expressed disbelief and regret, saying, "It was fun, but it's a shame the fire started late. It's my fault for assessing the opponent too late." At the end of the broadcast, rapper Seo Chul-goo, known for his performances in various survival programs, was teased to appear, raising expectations. Dindin further fueled curiosity for the next showdown with a provocative comment, "The exit is to the west, so if you lose, go out that way."
Meanwhile, 'Death Game' is a one-on-one brain showdown where the outcome is decided in a single match, released every Wednesday at 5 PM on Netflix.
