On the 25th, Kakao Entertainment (hereafter Kakao Enter) announced the official launch of its new co-CEO system with Ko Jeong-hee and Jang Yoon-jung, following the completion of the CEO appointment process at its regular shareholders' meeting and board of directors meeting. The company plans to elevate the synergy between IP and platforms and focus on expanding its global fandom.
Kakao Enter has been expanding its influence both domestically and internationally, leveraging its strong competitive edge in music, story, media content IP, and entertainment platform businesses. The innovative service strategy and expertise of the new Co-CEO Ko Jeong-hee, centered on platforms and AI, combined with Jang Yoon-jung's insights and network in IP and global business, are expected to further strengthen Kakao Enter's global competitiveness.
With the launch of the new leadership, Kakao Enter is reorganizing its business operations, with the two co-CEOs directly leading the 'Platform' and 'Global' businesses to accelerate progress. A new Chief Platform Officer (CPO) role and a Global Growth Center have been established, with Ko Jeong-hee and Jang Yoon-jung taking direct charge, respectively. The company plans to solidify the integration of its IP value chain and accelerate global synergy.
Ko Jeong-hee, also serving as CPO, will rapidly advance the innovation and sophistication of the IP platform. With a track record of leading trends in IT and finance industries through strategies that break traditional molds, Ko plans to integrate user-centric service design and data/AI-based innovation expertise across Kakao Enter. The focus will be on enhancing major platforms like Melon, KakaoPage, and V LIVE to offer users differentiated, personalized content experiences and secure the platform's global competitiveness.
Jang Yoon-jung, as head of the Global Growth Center, will concretize Kakao Enter's global growth roadmap. The plan is to strengthen the global competitiveness of the IP business, which encompasses planning, production, and distribution of music, story, and media IPs, and to build a super IP portfolio with global influence by pursuing IP expansion and diversification. Jang will also actively seek new business opportunities for future growth.
