On the episode aired on the 21st, KBS 2TV's 'Mr. House Husband' featured the debut of Hwanhee, a singer with 28 years in the industry, as the newest member. Known for his work with Fly To The Sky and his recent success in the 'soul trot' genre, Hwanhee's personal life has piqued public interest. The production team spent three years persuading the 1982-born, unmarried Hwanhee to join, who admitted, "I was most worried about revealing my private life." He also confessed his awkward relationship with his mother, saying, "There are many family episodes on 'Mr. House Husband,' but I rarely talk to my mother. Sometimes she doesn't reply to my messages, and she leaves my concerts without saying hello."
The video shown by the production team depicted a different side of Hwanhee's mother than he described. Hwanhee was taken aback by his mother's lively demeanor as she chatted with the crew and did hula hoop exercises. During the conversation, his mother lamented, "I've never been to Jeju Island. I don't even have a passport," to which Hwanhee responded, "What have you been doing with your life?" His mother summarized her tough life, saying, "I did everything for my sons, even if it meant going into debt. That's why I dislike meeting people and everything else." She also expressed gratitude towards Hwanhee, saying, "Hwanhee provides for me. When I apologize, he says, 'I don't mind spending on you at all.'"
After watching the video, Hwanhee felt compelled to visit his mother, saying, "It seems like she told the production team everything she wanted to tell me. I feel like I need to go see her with this energy." Hwanhee's visit to his mother's house, where he rang the bell instead of entering with a code, highlighted the distance between them. His mother was visibly uncomfortable with the unexpected visit.
Sitting across from his mother, Hwanhee awkwardly started the conversation by saying, "I haven't eaten anything," unable to bring up the topics he had in mind. Upon opening the fridge and finding beer and soju, he was surprised and asked, "Do you drink soju and beer together?" His mother replied, "I need to drink to get some sleep," in a calm yet lonely tone. Hwanhee reflected, "I was curious about what she does for fun since she doesn't go out or meet friends. I just found out she drinks alone."
Hwanhee's mother prepared a heartfelt meal but avoided eating with him, revealing, "I don't think we've eaten together in the last 10 years." She explained, "I don't like eating together because I'm getting older, and I feel embarrassed when I spill food or have a runny nose."

The conversation between mother and son continued without pause. Hwanhee asked why she never traveled, and she replied, "I never even thought about traveling because we were too poor." Towards the end of the video, Hwanhee cautiously suggested, "I'll move in here, and we can do all the things we couldn't before." His mother firmly declined, saying, "I understand your feelings, but that's not possible. It's already painful to see you take on the role of the head of the family. I don't want to burden you more." Hwanhee promised, "I will try my best. I feel like I need to do something with my mother soon," hinting at his transformation into a devoted son.
