Premiering on November 9th, tvN STORY's 'Parenting Intern' is a reality growth show where soon-to-be grandfathers with little parenting experience spend a day with children, learning the ropes of childcare from scratch. The process of these two legends, who have reached the pinnacle of their respective fields, starting anew as 'rookie interns' in front of babies is expected to bring both laughter and empathy. Ahead of the premiere, the second teaser video released today (19th) shows Lee Kyung-kyu and Ahn Jung-hwan engaging in a fierce debate over the parenting intern position, providing non-stop laughter.
How Did the Parenting Experience Competition Between Lee Kyung-kyu and Ahn Jung-hwan Unfold?Despite being neatly dressed in suits and sitting politely, Lee Kyung-kyu and Ahn Jung-hwan cannot hide their nervousness, as if they have returned to being newcomers. When asked by the interviewer to introduce their careers, 'Entertainment Godfather' Lee Kyung-kyu boasts eight awards from the three major broadcasting companies, while 'Soccer Legend' Ahn Jung-hwan highlights his national team experience and prowess on the field. However, these impressive credentials receive no special treatment in the parenting intern recruitment process.
The two intern candidates quickly adapt their strategies. Lee Kyung-kyu claims, “I’ve been doing children’s programs for 12 years,” and asserts, “After Bang Jeong-hwan, I’m the best at loving children.” Just as he tries to take the lead, Ahn Jung-hwan humorously interjects, “I’m next after him,” causing laughter. Ahn then confidently declares, “Parenting is about stamina. I’ll be a problem-solver in parenting too,” showcasing his national-level confidence. Lee Kyung-kyu counters, “The key is how deep your experience is,” maintaining a tense standoff. Who will ultimately succeed, the experienced Lee Kyung-kyu or the energetic Ahn Jung-hwan? What Surprises Does the Main Poster Hold?However, the main poster reveals a different atmosphere. The once-confident intern candidates Lee Kyung-kyu and Ahn Jung-hwan are shown completely overwhelmed, with baby bibs and handkerchiefs layered over their neat suits, holding baby bottles, and with pacifiers in their mouths, their eyes losing focus as if their spirits have left them. Yet, the cheerful babies, who tug at Lee Kyung-kyu's hair and give Ahn Jung-hwan a pacifier, are the show's highlight. The real parenting challenge of legendary figures being effortlessly defeated by babies and running with baby bottles is heightening anticipation.
