What challenges did you face during the filming of 'Lovers in Paris'?

Meeting the public through a variety show after a long time, Park Shin-yang shared his shy recent activities, exuding the aura of 'Painter Park' who has distanced himself from the world, sparking interest from the opening. Missing 'Actor Park Shin-yang', 'Rooftop' member Hong Jin-kyung asked, "Can you say 'Baby, let's go' for me just once?" reminiscing about her fan days, and Park Shin-yang delivered the still-charming "Baby, let's go", stirring up the 'Rooftop Room'. However, he humorously recalled, "Everywhere I go, people ask me to say it, but I really don't know why. Even when I first saw the script, I thought, 'I can't do this without breaking a sweat.'"

What challenges did you face during the filming of 'Lovers in Paris'?

Reflecting on the time when he gained national popularity through the drama 'Lovers in Paris', Park Shin-yang shared, "Honestly, I don't remember much. I injured my back in France as soon as filming started and had to take a lot of painkillers. Even after returning to Korea and undergoing surgery, I had to shoot without recovery. I filmed the entire drama on crutches and stayed up so many nights that I barely remember how I finished it." He added humorously, "While it was nice that people recognized me, it was also uncomfortable. I felt like I had to wear a suit all the time, so I couldn't just wear anything. In fact, passing citizens would comment, 'Why are you dressed like that?'"

What led you to transition from actor to painter?

Park Shin-yang candidly shared his life as a painter. He revealed that the transition to painting wasn't planned, saying, "I had long periods where I couldn't get up due to back and thyroid issues. I was engulfed in an unknown longing. One day, I walked into an art supply store, bought paints and brushes, and started painting." He surprised many by revealing he hasn't sold a single piece, saying, "There were many inquiries, but I declined. If it were a blank check, I might have been tempted," jokingly adding, "The real challenge is 'how to show it' rather than 'how to sell it'." He also confessed, "I didn't realize how expensive art supplies would be. It's overwhelming. When the paint starts running out, I feel discouraged," showing his human side.

What preparations did you make for your role in 'Sign'?

The episode was filled with fresh quizzes and stories that offered a glimpse into Park Shin-yang's life trajectory. Among the questions were 'How to determine the time of submersion of a drowned body using insects in forensic entomology', 'Essential manners for Russian theater audiences', 'The habit that Lee Bu-jin's eldest son, Lim Dong-hyun, cited as his secret to getting into Seoul National University', and 'Merry Heart Syndrome'. Park Shin-yang recalled his preparation for his role in 'Sign', revealing, "I observed autopsies about 50 to 100 times like a real forensic scientist," astonishing everyone. He explained his decision to star in 'Sign', the debut work of now-renowned writer Kim Eun-hee, saying, "It was a new story, and I felt it had something important to say."

Additionally, Park Shin-yang shared candid stories about his life, including his brave decision to study abroad during Russia's most tumultuous times, fainting from malnutrition when his study funds ran out, dislocating his jaw from overzealous vocal exercises, and even undergoing a three-year vow of silence during high school when the world's words seemed meaningless. Kim Sook expressed admiration, saying, "The more I hear, the more I realize he's a true artist," while Song Eun-i shared, "I think today we heard the most philosophical and literary stories in 'Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room' history."
