The name analysis of broadcaster Seo Jang-hoon, who divorced announcer Oh Jung-yeon in 2012, was revealed.
On the October 18th episode of EBS's 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighboring Millionaire,' name expert Park Dae-hee, known for naming 60,000 people, shared his life story and unique philosophy. Park, who has dedicated 20 years to the study of names, runs a 'naming shop' so popular that reservations are booked a year in advance.
During the broadcast, Seo Jang-hoon's name analysis was revealed for the first time, capturing viewers' attention. Park described Seo as someone who can 'repay a thousand debts with words,' adding that while he may live a somewhat solitary life, a partner will come into his life in his later years. Seo humorously remarked, "I'm glad someone will be there in my later years."
However, Park's success story is rooted in a past of severe poverty. He recalled, "I walked 4km to school because I couldn't afford bus fare, and my name was written on the board for not paying the 3,600 won vaccination fee." After graduating middle school, he moved to Seoul and worked as a maid in a wealthy household, enduring hardships like being scolded for eating tangerines. Despite being accepted to his desired university, financial constraints forced him to abandon his dream, leading him to delve into the study of saju and myungri (Korean fortune-telling). His relentless study led him to open a philosophy center in his late 20s, which quickly gained popularity. He reminisced, "I saw clients from morning till dawn. The bank even came to collect money because I didn't have time to deposit it."
The episode also showcased Park's four-story mansion, located in a luxury townhouse known as a filming location for the hit drama 'SKY Castle.' It was revealed that Park gifted this house to her husband, singer Lee Jang-woo. Lee shared, "One day, my wife showed me the house and asked what I thought. I said it was nice, and she said, 'Then buy it,' so we signed the contract that day."
The couple's story is like a movie, having met when Park was a teenage fan and Lee was a popular singer. Park recalled, "I first saw my husband at a 015B concert when I was 18, and I was so mesmerized." Years later, they met again at a gathering, and Park humorously noted, "Before dating, I checked our compatibility through saju. He had a kind heart, which gave me confidence," highlighting her unique approach of 'compatibility first, dating later.'
Currently, Park supports underprivileged children by providing tuition and scholarships and has been donating to social welfare facilities for over 20 years. She stated, "I hope there are no children who can't study due to financial difficulties like I faced." She is also preparing to establish a foundation for disadvantaged children using rent collected from a building in Daechi-dong since 2013. Seo Jang-hoon expressed admiration, saying, "It's amazing that you're saving all that money."
Additionally, Park offers her naming expertise as a volunteer service for children from low-income families in collaboration with local government. Seo suggested, "It would be great if you could name children in orphanages," to which Park responded, "I'm exploring ways to do that," leaving a warm impression.
