March is set to be an exciting month for K-pop fans as ITZY's Yuna, Red Velvet's Irene, DAY6's Wonpil, and VERIVERY's Kangmin make their solo comebacks. From seasoned veterans to first-time soloists, these artists are ready to bring fresh energy to the music scene this spring.
ITZY's Yuna to Make Solo Debut on March 23
Transitioning from the youngest member to a solo artist, ITZY's Yuna is set to release her debut solo album 'Ice Cream' on March 23. Following Yeji, she becomes the second member of the group to go solo. The album will feature four tracks, including the title track 'Ice Cream', 'B-Boy', 'Blue Maze', and 'Hyper Dream'.
The timing is perfect as ITZY's rising popularity coincides with Yuna's solo debut, garnering significant attention. Their 6-year-old track 'THAT'S A NO NO' has recently gained renewed interest, leading to a resurgence in popularity. ITZY will perform on Mnet's 'M Countdown' on the 19th to celebrate this trend. Yuna's individual recognition has also increased, thanks to her acting debut in tvN's drama 'Undercover Miss Hong', where she portrayed the confident character Hong Jang-mi.
Red Velvet's Irene and DAY6's Wonpil to Return on March 30
Red Velvet's Irene will make her comeback with her first full-length album on March 30, marking her return as a solo artist after 1 year and 4 months. Her album 'Biggest Fan' will include 10 tracks, showcasing a variety of genres and highlighting her journey of self-support and growth.
Irene's solo potential was proven with her first mini-album 'Like A Flower', released in November 2024, which sold over 330,000 copies in its first week. It topped various charts, including Hanteo, Circle Chart, iTunes in 23 regions, and China's QQ Music.
DAY6's Wonpil will also return on March 30 with his solo mini-album 'Unpiltered', his first solo release in four years since 'Pilmography'. The album will feature seven tracks, including the title track 'Love Ward', 'Toxic Love', 'Grown Up', 'Up All Night', 'Step by Step', 'Not a Million Roses', and 'Piano'.
Known for his warm emotional style, Wonpil showcases his singer-songwriter talents in this album, having participated in the creation of all tracks. The album title 'Unpiltered' reflects his unfiltered self, focusing on presenting his true essence and narrative.
VERIVERY's Kangmin to Make Solo Debut on March 26
VERIVERY's Kangmin will step into the spotlight as a solo artist on March 26, marking his debut after seven years in the industry. Known for his standout performance on Mnet's survival show 'Boys Planet', where he finished 9th, Kangmin is set to release his solo album 'Free Falling'.
While many survival show participants have faded after initial fame, Kangmin's solo debut will be a crucial moment to establish a long-term career. The quality of his music and performance will determine his future success.
