Mnet Unveils New All-Gender Dance Series for Summer 2026
Mnet, the South Korean network that sparked a 'dance syndrome,' is set to launch a new dance series this summer.

On October 17th, Mnet released the first teaser video for its upcoming dance program on its official YouTube channel, 'The CHOOM.' This new series is the ambitious successor to the globally acclaimed 'Street Woman Fighter.'

While previous shows focused on dancers' skills, this series will spotlight 'performance directors' who create and complete entire stage performances based on choreography. In the evolving K-POP scene, the role of performance directors, who oversee choreography, staging, and stage utilization, is becoming increasingly vital. Viewers have witnessed the power of directing through the 'Street' series' ranking and mega crew missions, which produced high-quality 'works.' This new series aims to delve into the world of 'directing,' showcasing a fierce competition among global performance directors armed with unique ideas and directing skills.

A standout feature of this series is its 'All-Gender' competition format, a first for Mnet's dance survival shows. By removing gender boundaries, Mnet aims to focus on the essence of 'performance directing.'

Mnet's production team stated, "In professional directing environments where choreography and stage production occur, collaboration and competition are based solely on skill and creativity, regardless of gender." They added, "This series will not only determine 'who dances better' but also 'who leaves a more impactful work,' showcasing directors' pure creativity and expertise without gender constraints."

Since 2021, Mnet has expanded its series, starting with 'Street Woman Fighter,' which ignited a dance syndrome in South Korea, followed by 'Street Man Fighter,' 'Stage Fighter,' and 'World of Street Woman Fighter,' creating new K-Culture icons.
