On the upcoming October 18th episode of MBC's 'Son Seok-hee's Questions', director Jang Hang-jun, actor Yoo Hae-jin, and Im Eun-jung, CEO of production company Onda Works, will make an appearance.
During the show, director Jang showcased his usual witty storytelling, while Yoo Hae-jin expressed his concern yet undeniable affection for the film and its director. Yoo admitted, "I usually want to forget a film quickly after it's done to focus on the next project, but with 'The King and the Clown', I still can't shake off the emotions. It's a first for me." Director Jang added, "Yoo Hae-jin was the driving force behind this film. He was like a relentless Um Hong-do, and the movie couldn't have started without him."
In fact, there was a moment when Yoo Hae-jin criticized director Jang for editing too easily, creating a tense atmosphere on set. Jang humorously remarked, "It might be the first time in film history that an actor nagged a director to edit better." Yoo added, "But the next day, Jang coolly admitted, 'After re-editing, I realized you were right,' which made us laugh."
Im Eun-jung, who joined the show unexpectedly, explained her persistence in working with director Jang, saying, "He has humor, seriousness, and a sense of justice, making him the only director who could create this film." She also revealed that Yoo Hae-jin's involvement eased the production process. Reflecting on leaving her job to pursue this film after three years, she confessed, "If we hadn't broken even, there was no backup plan." Director Jang added humorously, "I've never seen a producer jump in empty-handed like this before."
Catch the stars of 'The King and the Clown' on 'Son Seok-hee's Questions' airing at 9 PM on October 18th.
