In the premiere episode of TV CHOSUN's weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin' (written by Phoebe, Im Sung-han) aired on the 14th, the story unfolds with the genius neurosurgeon Shin Ju-shin (played by Jung Yi-chan) and top actress Momo (played by Baek Seo-ra) embarking on a fateful romance. However, Momo falls into a coma due to a tragic accident, putting them in a dire situation.
Amidst this, Jung Yi-chan and Song Ji-in create a shocking atmosphere with a 'Palm Reading' scene that exudes a peculiar air between the prospective son-in-law and mother-in-law. Before Momo's accident, Shin Ju-shin visits Hyeon Ran-hee (played by Song Ji-in) with wine to greet her. While Momo is away, Hyeon Ran-hee suggests reading Shin Ju-shin's palm, creating an ambiguous atmosphere by holding and examining his hand.
Particularly, Hyeon Ran-hee, with a mysterious expression, mentions, “Our Momo's father left too soon,” leaving Shin Ju-shin to gaze at her with a sharp look despite his expressionless face. The sudden and puzzling actions of Hyeon Ran-hee raise curiosity about the potential butterfly effect on Shin Ju-shin, Momo, and Hyeon Ran-hee.
Jung Yi-chan and Song Ji-in successfully capture the subtle tension through their exchanged glances during this scene. Jung Yi-chan portrays a penetrating gaze towards his prospective mother-in-law, Hyeon Ran-hee, with subtlety amidst his calm demeanor.
