'How to Become a Building Owner in Korea' is a suspense drama about a debt-ridden building owner who gets involved in a fake kidnapping scheme to protect his family and property.

Previously, it was reported that Ha Jung-woo was in the process of selling buildings in Gwancheol-dong, Jongno-gu, and Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Known for his active real estate investments, he had once owned five buildings but sold one in 2021, leaving him with four. Now, he has put half of them up for sale.

In the drama, Ha Jung-woo plays the role of Ki Soo-jong, a building owner who acquired his property through extensive loans. When asked if filming the drama influenced his decision to sell, he humorously questioned, "I wonder which reporter leaked that," and explained, "The real estate market isn't great, so I decided to sell early, about two years ago. It's not because of the drama."

He added, "The script resonated with me a lot. Even though I own buildings, I've realized that being a landlord doesn't always mean a rosy life." He continued, "There were many relatable aspects in the script, and it highlighted my lack of economic knowledge and real estate decisions. That's why I deeply connected with the character Ki Soo-jong." He jokingly assured, "There's nothing wrong with the properties I'm selling."

Director Lim Pil-sung stated, "Rather than delivering a grand message or lesson, I wanted to make this project entertaining. I focused on ensuring the actors' performances and the story itself stood out without excessive directorial intervention."

He further explained, "Although it's a thriller and suspense genre, it has many black comedy elements. The clash of characters with desires leads to intriguing situations, making it hard to predict the next episode, keeping viewers engaged." He also mentioned, "We put a lot of effort into the music. It's a work meant to be enjoyed rather than analyzed for its message," urging viewers to tune in.

'How to Become a Building Owner in Korea' premieres on the 14th at 9:10 PM.
