Yoon Kyung-ho Praises Chemistry with Lee Dong-hwi in 'Method Acting'

Actor Yoon Kyung-ho shared his thoughts on working with Lee Dong-hwi.

On the 13th, a press screening for the film 'Method Acting' was held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The event was attended by actors Lee Dong-hwi, Yoon Kyung-ho, Kang Chan-hee, and director Lee Ki-hyuk.

'Method Acting' (directed by Lee Ki-hyuk) tells the story of 'funny actor' Lee Dong-hwi, who, despite rising to fame through comedy, seeks recognition for his genuine acting by becoming overly immersed in his role. The film is an expanded feature project based on a short film of the same name, with director Lee Ki-hyuk and Lee Dong-hwi collaborating once again to create this immersive meta-comedy.

In the film, Lee Dong-hwi plays a character named 'Lee Dong-hwi,' offering a unique blend of reality and fiction with a witty narrative that provides a fresh sense of fun.

Yoon Kyung-ho revealed that he joined the project due to his connection with director Lee Ki-hyuk. He said, "I worked with the director during his acting days on the drama 'Confession,' and he reached out to me because of that connection. I was surprised and pleased to hear he was preparing a feature film."

He continued, "Lee Dong-hwi is the protagonist, and I play his brother 'Dong-tae.' When I heard the name, I hesitated for a moment, wondering how far the film would go," he laughed. "After watching the original and the director's previous works, I gained trust and anticipation. The script was fresh and entertaining."

Yoon also spoke about his chemistry with Lee Dong-hwi. "Although Lee Dong-hwi hasn't done much comedy, he left a strong comedic impression," he said. "While working together, I found him to be very serious, full of ideas, and passionate."

He added, "Many of the ad-libs and comedic points in various scenes came from Dong-hwi's ideas. Playing himself requires great courage, and he was both cautious and bold in the process, listening attentively to the stories of those around him."

"Even though he's younger, I learned a lot from him. Especially the final scene, which I think was a new discovery of actor Lee Dong-hwi," he expressed. "Looking back, he became a younger brother I miss and a colleague I want to work with again."

The film 'Method Acting' is set to be released on the 18th.
