Released on the 6th, 'Monthly Boyfriend' is a romantic comedy about a webtoon PD, Seo Mi-rae (played by Jisoo), who subscribes to and experiences romance through a virtual simulation to escape her mundane life. Jo Han-chul plays Hwang Byung-hak, the boss of Seo Mi-rae and Park Kyung-nam (played by Seo In-guk), anchoring the series with his strong presence. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK's Jisoo, who has faced criticism for her acting skills in the past, continues to receive mixed reviews from viewers in this series.
In one humorous scene, Hwang Byung-hak expresses his disappointment by ignoring Seo Mi-rae for three weeks after she skips a workshop, and in another, he sings alone at a company dinner, embodying the oblivious boss stereotype. His comedic peak is reached when he desperately tries to protect his beloved coffee cup from the wrath of writer Yoon Song (played by Gong Min-jung), who is furious over a contract termination.
'Monthly Boyfriend', featuring Jo Han-chul, is available for streaming on Netflix.
