Cha Woo-seok becomes the insurance officer at Royal Auction to investigate Han Seol-ah, who is linked to the deaths of men and the whistleblower Kim Yoon-ji. Although they exchange pleasantries upon meeting again as a client and insurance officer, a tense atmosphere lingers between them.

Before Cha Woo-seok's arrival, a video of Han Seol-ah and Kim Yoon-ji arguing on the day of the incident was leaked online, leading to suspicions about Han Seol-ah within the auction house. To separate Cha Woo-seok from the auction staff, Han Seol-ah arranges a private meeting under the pretense of introducing the auction. Despite Cha Woo-seok's probing questions, she firmly denies any unscheduled meetings, blocking further access.

Unable to find evidence within the auction house, Cha Woo-seok changes his approach and follows the traces of the deceased Kim Yoon-ji. He discovers a key in Kim Yoon-ji's car that leads him to an apartment, where he enters with a trembling heart.

While exploring the darkened apartment, Cha Woo-seok is shocked to see Han Seol-ah's face in the window of the building across the street. Han Seol-ah, standing by the window, gazes at the opposite building with a mysterious expression, as if aware of Cha Woo-seok's presence, leaving viewers frozen in suspense. The question arises: why was Kim Yoon-ji living across from Han Seol-ah, and what is the nature of their troubled past?

At the police station, detectives are searching for the whistleblower who claimed Kim Yoon-ji's death was a murder, not a suicide. The leaked video of Han Seol-ah and Kim Yoon-ji's argument on the day of the incident, along with their overlapping movements before Kim Yoon-ji's death, adds to the intrigue.

Detectives, sensing something amiss, track down the whistleblower, Royal Auction intern Do Eun-hye (played by Han Chae-rin). During questioning, Do Eun-hye reluctantly reveals, "Han Seol-ah, she killed her," shocking the detectives. The focus now shifts to whether Han Seol-ah is indeed responsible for Kim Yoon-ji's death, as Do Eun-hye's testimony suggests.
