On the latest episode of KBS 2TV's 'New Release, Pyeonstorang', Sunye opened up about her natural birth experience.
The episode, aired on the 6th, featured Sunye inviting her fellow girl group members, Wonder Girls' Yubin and After School's Kahi, to her home.
Sunye showcased a 'Canadian-style meal' with dishes like Canadian cold pig's feet and chicken noodle soup. Kahi was impressed by Sunye's skilled knife work, and Yubin reminisced, "Sunye used to cook for us even when she was a high school trainee."
The trio reminisced about their idol days. Kahi asked, "What did you do for fun during your active days? Did you ever go to clubs?" Yubin revealed, "Our first club experience was with producer Park Jin-young. He promised to take us on a club tour once Yeeun and Sunye became adults."
Sunye recalled, "Park Jin-young taught us about drinking etiquette, hoping we'd learn about it healthily."
Kahi inquired if they ever sneaked out to have fun, to which Sunye and Yubin firmly replied, "Never." They laughed, saying, "We weren't brave enough to do what we were told not to."
In contrast, Kahi shared her rebellious experiences, admitting, "We got our phones confiscated for sneaking out to meet boyfriends and going to clubs."
Reflecting on her pregnancy, Sunye shared, "I got pregnant right after marriage, so we barely had a honeymoon. I only gained 9kg due to severe morning sickness."
Kahi added, "I gained 18kg during pregnancy. After giving birth, I couldn't lose the belly. I managed my body by cutting carbs and exercising intensely for six months after three months of breastfeeding."
Sunye surprised everyone by revealing she had all three of her children at home in Canada through natural birth, a method minimizing medical intervention. She explained, "The Canadian midwife system is reliable, and home felt more comfortable. It's a common practice there."
She continued, "The pain was intense, especially with my second child, to the point of needing emergency care. It was even worse with the third. Yet, meeting the baby turns the worst pain into the greatest joy."
Yubin, who is single, jokingly said, "I don't want to know anymore; I might not have kids." Kahi humorously encouraged her, "You look like you'd give birth well. Just get married soon!"
