BLACKPINK Sets New K-Pop Girl Group Record with 'DEADLINE'
BLACKPINK has set a new milestone in K-pop history with their third mini-album 'DEADLINE', breaking the initial sales record for a K-pop girl group.

According to Hanteo Chart on the 6th, BLACKPINK's 'DEADLINE' sold a total of 1,774,577 copies from February 27 to March 5. This marks the highest first-week sales for a K-pop girl group, surpassing their previous album 'BORN PINK' by approximately 230,000 copies.

'DEADLINE' showed promising signs of success with nearly 1.9 million pre-orders during its pre-sale period. On its release day, the album sold 1,461,785 copies, setting a new record for the highest single-day sales by a K-pop girl group. It dominated the Hanteo weekly and monthly charts within just two and a half days of sales and achieved a triple crown on the Circle Chart, showcasing its overwhelming success.

This achievement is seen as a testament to BLACKPINK's expanding influence in the global music market and the strength of their dedicated fanbase. With global demand for the album exceeding expectations, additional production is underway, suggesting that final sales figures may rise even further.

BLACKPINK is also making waves on various global charts. 'DEADLINE' topped the iTunes album charts in 38 regions worldwide, reaching the pinnacle of the worldwide charts. The music video for the title track 'GO' quickly became the number one trending video on YouTube worldwide and was the 'most viewed video in 24 hours', receiving an enthusiastic response.

The album has garnered praise from major international media outlets. Rolling Stone stated, "BLACKPINK is back at their peak," highlighting the distinct individuality of each member while showcasing their presence in the way BLACKPINK does best. Billboard also praised the title track 'GO', calling it "the best song on the album and the track that best represents BLACKPINK."
