In celebration, Ahn released a video titled 'Dudakkang? From Today, We Call It Anjjonku - 1 Million Q&A Gold Button Unboxing.'
In the video, Ahn expressed, "It's already been a year since I opened the channel," adding that sharing genuine stories and introducing various restaurants has been a rewarding and joyful experience. He credited his success to his subscribers, affectionately known as 'Evenies,' and shared the Gold Play Button with his team, expressing his gratitude.
Ahn also addressed the 'Dudakkang' controversy that gained traction online. The incident involved a baking mishap where cookies, made with his daughter Siyoung, turned out hard due to his insistence, resembling traditional Korean snacks.
Reflecting on the incident, Ahn admitted, "I regret not heeding my daughter's advice at the time." Despite initial hurt from comments siding with Siyoung, he found joy in the audience's playful engagement. Ahn redeemed his culinary reputation by perfecting the 'Anjjonku,' a cookie with a crispy exterior and chewy interior.
Ahn also clarified personal curiosities, explaining that the English spelling of his surname as 'Anh' instead of 'Ahn' was due to a typo by an immigration officer during his U.S. residency application. He chose to keep it to avoid the $500 correction fee, dispelling rumors of Chinese heritage.
He shared his happiest moments, highlighting the birth of his children and showing their photos as his phone wallpaper, showcasing his loving fatherly side.
Ahn concluded with his philosophy, "Taste is subjective, born from personal experience," and promised to continue creating memorable dishes and content for his audience.
