Actor Jinyoung Park shared his thoughts on working with his co-star, Minju Kim, who is seven years his junior.
On the 5th, a press conference for JTBC's new Friday series 'Shining' was held at The Link Hotel Seoul in Guro-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Yoonjin Kim, and actors Jinyoung Park and Minju Kim.
'Shining' is a drama that captures the journey of young adults who, once sharing a world of their own, become the guiding light and belief in each other's lives.
Director Yoonjin Kim described the series as "a story about a nineteen-year-old boy and girl who meet in a rural village called Yeonwoo-ri, part ways at twenty, and reunite at thirty. It's a work about revisiting and confirming past feelings during a pivotal time."
Born in 1994, Jinyoung Park spoke about his chemistry with Minju Kim, who is seven years younger, saying, "It was perfect." He added, "The director had us do a lot of pre-readings, even 10-hour sessions. If we didn't become close and have good chemistry after that, it would have been our problem, so we worked hard to sync up."
Director Yoonjin Kim commented, "Jinyoung Park made things really comfortable. He was so accommodating to Minju Kim, who might have found the start challenging, that it made me think, 'To this extent?' They seemed like friends, with no age gap noticeable."
Regarding the strengths of 'Shining,' Jinyoung Park confidently stated, "Although love is a universal theme, this drama shows it in such detailed focus that people will love it. It's something you can't miss." Minju Kim added, "I think it's a story everyone can relate to. The visuals are so beautiful that just watching it will be healing." Director Yoonjin Kim also noted, "There are even more beautiful actors in it."
The 10-episode series 'Shining' will premiere on the 6th at 8:50 PM, with the first two episodes airing back-to-back.
