On March 3rd, Yang Mi-ra took to her social media account to address the issue, stating, "Since yesterday, I've seen my photo and name in articles, and it seems many people are worried or misunderstanding the situation." She referred to the controversy over the Japan trip video.
She continued, "I only went for filming in early February, and it's not even my channel. So why is my photo prominently featured, and why am I being portrayed as someone who did something wrong?" She expressed her difficulty in accepting the sudden situation.
Yang Mi-ra added, "Everything was shocking and upsetting, but amidst the flood of articles, there was nothing I could do. It was frustrating and unfair to realize that such things can happen even when you haven't done anything."
She further stated, "I felt like I needed to speak up to avoid getting sick from holding it in," and emphasized, "As always, I will shake it off and fill myself with bright energy."
Previously, Ji So-yeon had posted a video on her YouTube channel on February 28th, featuring her trip to Japan with Yang Mi-ra. However, the video was released around March 1st, coinciding with Korean Independence Movement Day, which led to public criticism.
