Korean TV Host Jeon Hyun-moo Praised for Historical Knowledge by Renowned Educator
Korean TV personality Jeon Hyun-moo has been recognized for his historical knowledge by esteemed Korean history educator Choi Tae-sung.

On the evening of the 2nd, JTBC's 'Talk Pawon 25 Hours' aired a special episode featuring tours of Nairobi, Kenya; La Paz, Bolivia; and Harbin, China, along with a special segment on the stars of the upcoming 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

In honor of Korea's March 1st Independence Movement Day, the show highlighted a historical tour in Harbin, China, retracing the steps of independence activist Ahn Jung-geun. The tour included the Ahn Jung-geun Memorial Hall, which chronicles his life from birth to martyrdom, and significant sites like Harbin Station, where Ahn assassinated Ito Hirobumi.

The episode also explored historical locations such as the spot where Ahn and Ito stood during the assassination and the Lushun Japanese Kwantung Court Exhibition Hall, where Ahn was tried. These sites commemorate Ahn's legacy and his fight for Korean independence on foreign soil.

Amidst this historical interest, director Jang Hang-jun's film 'The Man Who Lives with the King' has surpassed 9 million viewers in just 27 days, creating a cultural phenomenon. The film, set in 1457 Cheongnyeongpo, tells the story of a village chief (played by Yoo Hae-jin) who volunteers for exile to revive his village, and a young dethroned king (played by Park Ji-hoon) in exile.

With growing interest in history, many are visiting the exile site of King Danjong in Yeongwol. Choi Tae-sung praised Jeon Hyun-moo's historical knowledge, stating, "I often see fake intellectuals on TV, but Jeon Hyun-moo's knowledge is genuine. History is easy to forget, but Jeon's memory is exceptional." Jeon responded, "I listen to your lectures during my car rides." Born in 1977, Jeon Hyun-moo is 49 years old, a graduate of Yonsei University, and known for passing three major broadcasting exams.
