Lee Sang-min recently revealed the reasons behind his extreme reaction to a plagiarism controversy 31 years ago.
On the YouTube channel 'Jjanhanyoung Shin Dong-yup,' Tak Jae-hoon, Lee Sang-min, and Kim Jun-ho made an appearance.
During the episode, Shin Dong-yup discussed the contrasting remarriages of Lee Sang-min and Kim Jun-ho. Lee, who remarried after 20 years without a wedding ceremony, explained, "There was a lot to prepare, and it was unnecessarily expensive," so he and his wife, who is 10 years younger, decided to only register their marriage.
In contrast, Kim Jun-ho had a grand wedding "for his wife Kim Ji-min's first marriage." Tak Jae-hoon jokingly remarked, "You just wanted to collect wedding gifts and leave Korea," causing laughter. He also expressed surprise, saying, "Lee Sang-min held a press conference when he divorced, but remarried quietly."
When Shin Dong-yup asked Tak Jae-hoon if he would marry a woman who had never been married before, Tak replied, "I would prefer a quiet wedding."
Lee Sang-min also shared insights into his relationship and marriage. He met his current wife during a home shopping product production and recalled, "My wife was truly beautiful." He also mentioned his dream of producing an idol group, saying, "I asked my wife if I could pursue it, and she encouraged me to do so."
Lee Sang-min revisited the 1995 plagiarism controversy involving Roo'ra's 'Angel Without Wings.' Claims spread online that the song was very similar to Japanese group Ninja's 'Omatsuri Ninja,' and Lee admitted he was shocked upon hearing it. He confessed, "I was so humiliated that I considered taking extreme measures."
Tak Jae-hoon, a close friend of Lee, rushed to the hospital and said, "Why would you die?" while checking Lee's wrist, which had only minor scratches. He continued, "I grabbed the doctor and shouted, 'Save him!' but Lee immediately apologized, saying, 'I'm sorry.' I learned not to let emotions get the best of me." Lee clarified, "I wasn't really trying to do anything; the glass had just broken."
