BTS's Jungkook recently stirred up controversy during a live broadcast on the fan communication platform Weverse, where he candidly discussed smoking, mentioned his agency, and used profanity. Fans are now curious about the reactions of other BTS members.
During the 1.5-hour live session, Jungkook appeared intoxicated and openly shared, "I'm 30 now, can't I talk about smoking? I smoked a lot but have been trying to quit." He added, "I feel like the company will go crazy when I say this. I want to speak freely without worrying about the company."
Throughout the broadcast, Jungkook made obscene gestures and used English profanity towards an acquaintance. When fans expressed concern and suggested he end the broadcast, he responded, "Why are you telling me to stop? Don't tell me what to do." He concluded with a message, "I want to live my life my way now. Please support me."
As the controversy spread, other BTS members have not made any official comments. However, some members' social media activities shortly after the broadcast have sparked various interpretations online.
Notably, member V posted a photo of a riverside night view without any caption on the same day. Given the timing, opinions are divided between those who find it "meaningful" and others who see it as "just a casual post."
Past remarks by leader RM have also resurfaced. RM previously expressed the burden of managing the team, stating, "I've contemplated thousands of times whether it's better to disband or pause the team." His comments about respecting each member's individuality and autonomy are being revisited in light of the current situation.
Other members have yet to release any official statements or comments. Industry insiders suggest that, given the sensitive timing with their upcoming full-group comeback, the members might be internally discussing and resolving the situation.
Meanwhile, BTS is set to release their 5th studio album 'ARIRANG' on March 20, marking their return as a full group. With the controversy arising just a month before their comeback, fans express mixed feelings, lamenting the timing and hoping for a focus on their long-awaited return to the stage without unnecessary distractions.
