Secret's Song Ji-eun's Husband Park Wi Shares Journey of Hope After Paralysis Diagnosis

Park Wi, husband of former Secret member Song Ji-eun, opens up about his life and hope after being diagnosed with paralysis.

On the 20th, the YouTube channel 'With Sean' released a video titled 'Park Wi Shows a Miracle After Paralysis Diagnosis, What Are the Chances of Standing Again?'.

In the video, Park Wi shared, "It's been 12 years since I was diagnosed with paralysis. I still believe that one day I will stand up," expressing his unwavering hope.

Recalling the initial diagnosis, Park Wi said, "I was told there was no chance of improvement and that I wouldn't even be able to lift my hand."

However, Park Wi did not give up. He explained, "I fought with all my might to live, trying to exert strength in areas that wouldn't move. Like trying to put strength in a fingernail, I believed it was possible and repeated the effort." He added, "After two years, I started to regain some movement."

Currently, Park Wi uses a manual wheelchair and leads an independent life. He stated, "I drive myself and live independently," emphasizing the importance of both physical and mental rehabilitation.

Song Ji-eun also shared how her perspective changed watching her husband's transformation. She said, "Initially, I wanted to help, but I realized that helping could hinder his growth. I learned the importance of waiting."

Regarding the possibility of returning to life before the accident, Park Wi said, "Physically, it's inconvenient, but my life is richer now. I've discovered values and happiness I wouldn't have known otherwise. I'm grateful for my current life."

Yet, he hasn't lost hope. Park Wi mentioned, "Nerve regeneration and surgical techniques are advancing," and expressed his willingness to participate in clinical trials if the opportunity arises. He added, "Even if I can't stand, the belief that 'I will stand' is the driving force of my life."

Park Wi also shared his biggest wish if he could stand again. He said, "I want to play soccer again and show my wife who I was." He added, "I want to walk hand in hand and give Ji-eun a back hug. It's the most ordinary yet the biggest dream."

Song Ji-eun agreed, saying, "It's not about anything special, but walking through everyday life together." The couple shared tears, touching the hearts of viewers.

Meanwhile, Park Wi has been sharing his journey of overcoming paralysis since his 2014 accident, inspiring many. Regarding the recent controversy over the paid membership of their YouTube channel 'Wiracle,' he expressed, "I'm saddened that our decision for high-quality videos may have hurt someone."
