Actor Lee Kyu-hyung Reveals His Journey from Theater to Stardom on 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 3'

Actor Lee Kyu-hyung opens up about his journey from his days as a theater actor in Daehak-ro to his current success.

In the 20th episode of 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 3' (a joint production by MBN, Channel S, and SK Broadband), Jeon Hyun-moo, Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin), and actor Lee Kyu-hyung head to Chuncheon. There, they indulge in the local soul food, 'Tofu Jjapaghi,' while engaging in deep conversations.

The trio visits the original restaurant that developed the famous 'Tofu Jjapaghi' in Chuncheon. Upon tasting the rich Cheonggukjang and the much-anticipated 'Tofu Jjapaghi,' they are amazed by the 'ultimate' visual enhanced with domestic perilla oil, exclaiming, "It's insanely delicious!"

Amidst the happiness brought on by the food, the conversation flows freely. When Jeon Hyun-moo asks about his debut, Lee Kyu-hyung recalls, "I debuted in a musical at 22. I auditioned in Daehak-ro during my last military leave and got accepted." He continues, "In my 20s, I did theater with seniors like Jo Woo-jin and Kim Sung-kyun," adding, "Back then, my salary was about 150,000 won, which wasn't even enough for transportation," highlighting his passion during those times.

As the discussion about acting deepens, Jeon Hyun-moo slyly asks, "I heard there's a 'Pho Club' among actors?" Lee Kyu-hyung reveals, "I meet with Jo Seung-woo, Jung Moon-sung, and Tae In-ho at Seung-woo's house or nearby pho restaurants," unveiling the secret club.

Jeon Hyun-moo then inquires, "Where does Jo Seung-woo go for pho?" But Lee Kyu-hyung, while about to answer, suddenly retorts, "Who said that?" and "I don't really know!" leaving Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube taken aback. The reason behind his sudden reaction piques interest in their Chuncheon food trip.

Meanwhile, Jeon Hyun-moo recently faced controversy for using the term "stabbed" without filtering when referring to a fallen police officer on the Disney+ show 'Fate War 49,' for which he later apologized.

'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 3' airs on MBN and Channel S on the 27th at 9:10 PM.
