Director Kim Cheol-kyu Teases Unique Elements of 'Siren' with Park Min-young
Director Kim Cheol-kyu, known for his work on 'Hwang Jini', 'Flower of Evil', and 'Celebrity', has heightened anticipation for 'Siren', his latest project with actress Park Min-young. 'Siren' marks Park Min-young's return to tvN after two years, following the 2024 hit 'Marry My Husband'.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, the production presentation for tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Siren' was held online. The event was attended by MC Park Kyung-lim, director Kim Cheol-kyu, and actors Park Min-young, Wi Ha-joon, and Kim Jung-hyun.

'Siren' is a captivating romance thriller that revolves around an irresistible insurance fraud suspect and a man who delves into the deadly truth surrounding her. Park Min-young transforms into an art auctioneer in the drama.

Director Kim explained, "Since the main setting is a high-end art auction house, we set the stage, costumes, and props as lavishly as possible. Many art pieces appear, and copyright issues are quite daunting. We commissioned or rented works from various artists."

He continued, "I believe this drama features the most art pieces ever. These works are not just background props; they interact with the characters' psychology and music, enriching the episodes."

Kim added, "Initially, it was challenging to center the story around an art auctioneer. There were many details to consider. However, it turned out to be a masterstroke. We were able to encapsulate a sophisticated mise-en-scène with a compelling narrative, balancing both romance and thriller genres."

He further commented, "Such a project allows a director to fully showcase their creativity, imagination, and style. It was a project I was eager to tackle, and I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity."

'Siren' premieres on March 2 at 8:50 PM.
